How true is this… We definitely were dreaming about gifting Rajasee stoles to none other than our honorable prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi ji. And the universe has been very kind to us. On the occasion of SNDT Women’s University’s 108th anniversary function, he was invited as the chief guest and the PMO office had confirmed PM’s availability for the same. All the staff of SNDT University was very excited to receive the Prime minister. The reception & felicitation committee members decided to gift the PM something which has the essence of Maharashtra. A pheta (a traditional turban) and shela (traditional stole) were decided to be gifted.
The real task was the pheta! Team Rajasee took the challenge and made it happen. Dr. Rajshree selected the fabric, consulted with our very talented artist, Vaibhav Raut. He liked the fabric and gave a big yes. And he began his mission. Maharashtra’s very famous ‘Trimurtee’ stone sculpture was the whole design idea of it. He absolutely justified Dr. Rajshree’s design concept. Another gift, the shela. It is a pure silk paithani shela with munia border and Lotus design woven into it. Dr. Rajshree explained the concept to the paithani weavers and one of our good friends Rekha Kulkarni ma’am assisted her.
Our designer Dr. Rajshree Kulkarni felt so good while designing both of the gifts. Our prime minister couldn’t attend the function at the University due to some reasons. But the university decided to send the gifts to the PMO and it was done. The PMO has acknowledged the parcel. Now the team Rajasee is waiting for the picture of our honorable prime minister wearing the shela and the pheta!
