Mouktika (मौक्तिका)
₹19,000.00
Mouktika is a soothing off whitish cotton silk saree in combination with maroon hand embroidered blouse. This saree is beautifully handpainted with
Chandeshanugraha murti on its pallu. Chandeshanugraha is a stunning sculpture on the exterior wall of the11th century Shiva temple at Gangaikondacholapuram Tamil Nadu India, depicting the saint Chandesa, (King Rajendra), receiving a floral victory garland from Lord Shiva, accompanied by his seated wife Godess Parvati.
Chandesha was seen as a guardian of temples by the Cholas. This is also seen as Rajendra Chola being crowned by Shiva as Chandesha was sculpted in the likeness of the ruler himself. This temple is a living history of the Chola dynasty in stone from the period of Rajendra-I & a beautiful gallery of Chola art & architecture. Apart from this sculpture, elements of lord shiva (Trishul, Rudraksha mala & Damaru) are also hand painted & hand embroidered in the shape of flower bud with leaves. This gives “Mouktika” saree an elegant look.
The border running all over the saree is beautifully done with the maroon threads & the pallu has tassels at the end makes it looks sophisticated.
