Maatruka (मातृका)

Here is a lavish green Maheshwari silk, Maatruka saree from our mother’s special ‘Vatsala Collection’. The design on the pallu is inspired from the sculptures of Bhubneshwar. There’s a sculpture of a mother feeding her baby. And in another sculpture a mother is shown playing with her baby. Both sculptures have been carved in a very hard stone. It has a reference of Bhagwan Buddha’s birth. The watcher remains astonished. Maheshwari silk is supposed to be a royal fabric. Plus, the rich green colour with golden pallu is enhancing the beauty of the saree. Team Rajasee’s artists have woked so delicately both on the paintings and the golden embroidery with mirror work. This saree, Maatruka is paired with a parrot green blouse. It has aari work. Its sleeves have south Indian rangoli design.
