House of Rajasee

Inauguration Ceremony

This is the moment we longed for… that is what we are feeling right now. The heart is overflowing with joy, enthusiasm and a sense of fulfillment.
‘Rajasee’ is a golden-laced dream seen long long years ago. This dream got the wings during the lockdown period and many gifted artists automatically came into contact just as random dots get connect to form a beautiful picture. We think it is not quite out of turn to say that House of Rajasee is destiny’s child. Rajasee is the authentic Marathi brand that sees the unparalleled sculptures of India as its inspiration. The work got started with the artists and artisans of hand embroidery, hand painting, weaving and a series of spectacular and refined sarees came into being. A website was created to present the House of Rajasee at the service of the customers and the inauguration ceremony of the site was arranged at Little Theatre in the elegant building of NCPA. Prior to that, we were successful in generating curiosity and interest in Rajasee through Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
Even the booking started for the sarees and good friends like Vaibhav Joshi and Girish Kulkarni added to our zest by praising the designer stoles of Rajasee.
After a long wait, came the dawn of July 30, 2011! The friends and well-wishers of House of Rajasee gathered in the Little Theatre.
The program started with the folk music of Rajasthan. The exceedingly melodic songs like Kesariya baalamm, Piya re and Chhap tilak sab chhini created an enchanting atmosphere. It followed by Dr. Rajashree Patil-Kulkarni’s speech outlining the journey of Rajasee. It was a very emotional and passionate speech. The audience responded warmly to her one statement when she said, ‘Today, as this dream of Rajasee comes true, I am feeling like having discovered the saree of a happy woman’!
The website of ‘Rajasee’ was inaugurated by chief guest Hon. Manisha Mhaiskar, Principal Secretary, Dept of Environment and Climate changes, Maharashtra state, Hon. Shri Abhinay Kumbhar(Income Tax Commissioner). Both these high positioned officials possess a refined taste and knowledge in art. In her speech, madam Mhaiskar reminisced about the first saree she received as gift. She said, “I stood first in the competitive examination in the entire state. My father gifted me a silk binni saree which was considered very expensive at that time as a reward for this achievement. I have used that saree a lot and have kept it carefully. There is no doubt that Rajasee sarees will become in the same way.”
Hon. Abhinay Kumhar presented a very heart-felt speech. He said, “I had thought what else new could be done in sarees after the silken and rich high-class cloth like paithanis. Rajasee’s every saree is carrying the great Indian heritage of sculptures and arts. Here at Rajasee, sarees will not just be sold, but will be sent off lovingly like a daughter.’
All the talented artists who were involved in the production of Rajasee’s sarees like Charudatta Pandey, Chaitanya Dixit, Prachi Kulkarni and Vaibhav, Ram, Shehnaz and other members of the team were felicitated on this occasion. Dr. Mrinmayi Bhajak maintained the tone of the entire program with her gorgeous tuneful compeering.
Friends, Rajasee’s website is now ready to serve you. We look forward to your suggestions, feedback and yes, orders too.
